Our story
It started with a simple question: why isn’t dog food better?
After adopting her dog Paco (who is the inspiration behind our company name!) Dr. Mahsa Vazin, a food scientist with a background and expertise in chemistry, biology, and nanoscience and experience as a lead scientist at Impossible Foods, saw a gap between what dogs need and what most food delivers.
Instead of accepting the status quo, she set out to build something different for Paco and dogs everywhere—meals designed with intention, backed by science, and held to a higher standard.
What began as a mission to rethink dog nutrition became PawCo: a company focused on helping dogs live longer, healthier lives while creating a more responsible future for how we feed them.

PawCo is powered by a team of board certified animal nutrition experts, food scientists, and a passionate team committed to raising the standard of dog nutrition.
Roughly two-thirds of our team are women, and together we share a deep belief in what PawCo stands for—better health for dogs, greater transparency in what we feed them, and a more responsible future for animals and the planet.
What we stand for
Better nutrition starts with better science. Every PawCo recipe is thoughtfully developed by experts in animal nutrition and food science, using clean, high-quality ingredients selected for their functional benefits. From formulation to sourcing, we take a rigorous, evidence-based approach—while considering the broader impact of how dog food is made. The result is a more responsible, transparent, and forward-thinking way to nourish dogs.
Sustainability
Sustainability is built into everything we do. Our meals are 100% plant-based, a more resource-efficient approach that helps reduce environmental impact compared to traditional pet food. From ingredient sourcing to packaging, we’re focused on making responsible choices that support a healthier planet.
